The Psychosocial Support Unit

The Psychosocial Support Unit

Because Every and Each Patient Matters

The AVH Psycho-Social Unit has been dedicated to supporting the mental health needs of our patients and their families for 9 years. At our hospital, we consider the mental well-being of our patients to be just as important as their physical health. With this in mind, we work to enhance the quality of life of patients and their companions by addressing their physical, emotional, psychological, and social needs.

The center of our care is our patients.

At the Psycho-Social Unit, we offer a supportive environment for our patients and their families. Our team of six social workers are available to assist patients in all hospital departments, and they are dedicated to identifying and addressing the psychosocial needs of our patients. These compassionate professionals are determined to making a positive difference in the lives of those in need. At our unit, we believe that every patient deserves high-quality care, and we strive to provide the best possible support to all of our patients.

Our goals are:

  • Help the patients cope with their anxiety and worries about the challenges and difficulties of treatment.
  • Reduce patients’ stress by providing individual and group counselling.
  • Address Psychological issues during the journey of treatment.
  • Provide the best care possible for Gaza patients regarding housing and traveling.
  • Advocating the welfare of our patients by organizing various kinds of activities.

At AVH, we understand that our patients may face challenges and struggles during their treatment. That's why we have a Psychosocial unit devoted to providing support to these patients.

Our hospital is committed to improving the daily lives of our patients and making their experience as positive as possible.
